Cristian Crisóstomo’s mother was once very upset, as he had been in speech therapy for a year and a half and he was not making any progress. Says his mother: "I've spent so much money, I've made many sacrifices to be able to take him to the therapies and he wasn't making any progress.”
She soon sought the services of the TFW-sponsored CLP team in Armonizar, where he was given a range of treatments appropriate for children born with cleft palates. She says of his treatment:
“Since I started coming to Armonizar, Cristian speaks more clearly, he allows the dentist to treat his teeth. The ear doctor examined him and he explained to me that we have to take care of his ears so he can hear properly and so that he doesn't have problems in his speech therapy. In Armonizar, we get good care, plus they not only examine the child's ears, they also insert some devises, so that his ears don't hurt and he can hear better".
