Our Values
Transforming Faces Worldwide bases its work on four guiding values and principles.

- Multidisciplinary Care
Cleft lip and palate is a disorder affecting millions of children and adults around the world. It affects a person's appearsance, speech, teech, eating, hearing and their ability to develop socially. Cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial disorders can be successfully treated by a combination of surgery, dental work, speech therapy, social work and other forms of care and treatment.
Consequently, TFW is committed to working with local professionals who in turn are committed to working with a multidisciplinary approach. In doing so, the professionals provide complete care to the child and the parents, thus, enabling the child to be socially accepted into the community, and lead a productive and well-adjusted adult life.
- Local Capacity Building and Training
TFW believes in a multidisciplinary approach and our goal is to encourage, strengthen and support local professional teams and institutions in the process of providing high-quality, long-term treatment and care for children and adults born with cleft disorders.
To achieve this, TFW seeks out local professionals and organizations that demonstrate a desire to work as a team to provide complete care for the individual and having the potential to be self-reliant. To this end, TFW is willing to provide support for all aspects of a program, including further training of local professionals. Therefore, funds will be made available for such development.
- Access for All People in need
All people are created equal, and all people should have the right to good quality healthcare. TFW wants to make an impact on the number of people treated for CLP surgery and follow-up rehabilitation. To this end, TFW extends support through approved and appropriate organizations in developing countries to those less fortunate people irrespective of their faith, culture, age, gender or economic status. TFW chooses partners who will provide equal access to all people in need and are willing to commit themselves to long-term rehabilitative follow-up care for patients after surgery.
- Integrity
Respect between peoples implies trust, honesty and truthfulness. TFW is determined to listen with an open mind and communicate in full transparency on all the parameters of its own policies with project partners, alliances, volunteers, board, staff and consultants. All those involved are expected to accept a code of conduct acceptable to TFW.
